On Wednesday, January 10, 2024, 14 lifters, consisting of 6 new members and 8 returners of the Lytle Pirate Powerlifting team traveled to Texas Strength Systems (TSS) to compete in their first Meet of the season! The Meet had over 100 lifters competing, and the powerlifting coaches are proud to say that the Lytle lifters earned some medals!
- Junior Luke Estrada earned 1st place in the 148-weight class.
- Junior Nayelli Pacheco earned 1st in the 198-weight class.
- Sophomore Chris Jacques earned 1st in the 181-weight class.
- Sophomore Leah Mendoza earned 3rd in the 114-weight class.
- Freshman Isaac Ytuarte earned 2nd place in the 220-weight class.
On Friday, January 12, 2024, Lytle will return to TSS with a different group of lifters to gain experience and earn medals. On Wednesday, January 17, 2024, a group of young ladies will travel to Natalia for a girls-only Meet. The coaches and powerlifting team hope you can come out and cheer on these lifters!
