Last Saturday, January 6, 2024, ten members of the Pirate Band set sail for the Association of Texas Small School Bands (ATSSB) Area Band Auditions in Alice. The band directors are incredibly proud of the students’ hard work and success. All performed well and represented Lytle and the district to the best of their abilities, regardless of the outcome of the auditions! It is important to understand just how big ATSSB Area South is. Please check out the Area outlined in black on the map.
530 students competed against each other at the Area South contest, and the results are as follows:
-
Nadia Daniels – Flute – 5th out of 20 (top 2 advance to State)

If you’ve read this far, I’ve saved the best news for last! Joshua Guerra (11th grade – Trumpet) qualified for the All-State Band! Not only did Josh qualify, he earned 1st chair, meaning he is the best Trumpet player in 1A, 2A, and 3A – within the boundaries of the map.
Please help congratulate these students on all their hard work; they have proved that Little Things Turn into Big Things!
