Seventh grade boys basketball Holiday Edition

'Twas the week before Christmas and all through the land, not a creature was stirring, NOT UNTIL THE SEVENTH GRADE LYTLE PIRATES SHOWED UP! We jumped into Santa's Sleigh, and he yelled out!

First stop, the Island of Misfit Toys

We knew where he was taking us, he was heading to Crystal City!

We knew what we endured when we traveled there for football, so we came confident and ready to play. I politely asked the coach...

Do you really think you have a chance against us, Mr. Cowboy?

He politely said...

You serious, Clark?

And obviously, we responded to him with...

Yippie Ki Yay!

And for those of you who aren't sure...

Die hard is a cristmas movie!

They were a tough team and were determined to beat us, but we had alternate plans! Even though we started out slow, missing layups and free throws, we hung in. At the end of the first quarter, we borrowed a hat, a special hat, A MAGIC HAT! Frosty's Hat...

Frosty the Snowman

The boys transformed into something MAGIC! They played better than they have played all year! Burl Jopling and Jacob Cantu shut down their best player along with amazing DEFENSE from the rest of the team! Ryan Hendrickson was a beast on the boards, while Chevy Frias, Elliott Mata, Andrew Frausto, and Xzander Flores played inspired basketball! A special shout out to Christian Cortenas who came off the bench and played like a seasoned veteran! After an exciting, up and down game, after all the intensity, I finally caught my breath and let it out!

Halleluhag! Holy S#@*! Where's the Tylenol?

The seventh grade "A" team won 36-26! Staying undefeated and looking to continue that way! Coach Stewart had the "B" team primed and ready to shine! It was a slow start with only one point for the best part of the first half, but we finally scored, and our Big Baller Julio, yelled out...

Ha Ha, I did it!

Julio scored 9 of the team's 11 points on the way to an 11-4 victory!! The team played well as a whole and started the night off well for everyone else! When people want to run us down, say we are not good enough, well you say to them exactly what Buddy told them...

You sit on a throne of lies.

These boys are special and are unique. These boys are fun to coach and are loved dearly for just being themselves! Lytle has special teachers that have helped these young men along the way, and the coaching staff are extremely grateful! We rang a lot of bells so far the semester and George (Not George from the bus 🚌,) but George from "It's a Wonderful Life " knows what I'm talking about!

"Look, Daddy. Teacher says every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings."

THANK YOU, TEACHERS, FOR EVERYTHING! YOU ARE TRUE ANGELS AND HAVE EARNED YOUR WINGS!

Thank everyone for a wonderful first semester. Linus sums it up best! And Linus knows his stuff!

What Christmas is all about. Luke 2:9-11

Merry Christmas To All of the Lytle Staff! Thank you for supporting these boys and coaches! Have BLESSED Christmas Break!
