Please take two minutes out of your Friday to celebrate one of our Lytle ISD Seniors, Stefan Grigsby, who came to us in Junior High from Bulgaria. In seven short years here, Stefan has built relationships with his Pirate Family at all campuses and in most of the support departments here at Lytle. He created this video because he felt extremely grateful about all that Lytle schools have done for him. (Also, because I asked him to put his awesome video skills to work and possibly win some scholarship money.) I'm so glad he got excited about the challenge, because the result is remarkable and watching will put a cherry on top of your Friday.
After watching the video, I know you'll be shocked that he was not chosen to win the scholarship money. He was disappointed, but I think I'm the only one who couldn't help the tears. Anyone who knows Stefan ends up loving him and he loves right back. He is copied on this email, so if you are inclined, please send him your encouragement and your "vote" that here in Lytle, he is and always will be our big winner. Thank you to Mr. Adam Leyva who wrote Stefan's teacher recommendation for the scholarship app and to Mrs. Cassie Hoffman who sent the scholarship info to make sure our video students had a chance to apply.
The organization offering this cool video contest and scholarship money is one that Lytle ISD belongs to, the Friends of Texas Public Schools, at https://www.fotps.org, FOTPS doesn’t invest energy in education reform but rather in celebrating what’s right with our schools. This apolitical organization focuses on educating all Texans about the virtues and achievements of our Texas Public Schools. The underlying belief is that our schools are achieving more today than ever before, and America’s schools are superior to any other nation in the world. Thank you to FOTPS!
