Yesterday, Lytle High School hosted the Alamo Area College Mobile GOCenter. Personnel from the Alamo Area Colleges were available to help parents and students complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). We had 28 families and one staff member complete the needed online paperwork!!  This is a fantastic number and our turnout was praised again and again by the GoCenter personnel!  It was standing room only for most of the afternoon and the demand was so high the GoCenter has agreed to return during the month of April after many more have completed their 2014 taxes.

It was an honor to watch so many “first time college goers” work with their parents jointly complete a very important step towards their future. One mother, who was extremely nervous upon arrival that morning, walked back into the front office after she was finished in the go center, threw up her arms in triumph and said, “We did it!”.

If you would like to schedule an appointment or receive a personal contact concerning the April visit of the GOCenter please just let me know.

**The GoCenter is also available for career exploration and college awareness programs at K-12 campuses. http://www.alamo.edu/district/mobilego/services/
