Yesterday (Memorial Day) was the UIL State Solo & Ensemble Contest, held at Hendrickson High School in Pflugerville.  The Lytle High School band was represented extremely well with 12 students (the most ever) qualifying to compete, and 6 students (also the most ever) performing well enough to become state medalists!

Dylan Martinez received a silver medal for his 2nd division performance of his saxophone solo, while the flute trio consisting of Sandra Angeles, Lauryn Castro and Faith Soto became only the second LHS ensemble ever to earn a 1st division at State!  And huge congratulations go to Freshman Ethan Esquibel and Sophomore Luiz Tovar who both earned State gold medals for their 1st division performances of their solos!

Congratulations to all!
