Saturday, the HS Band competed in the Cotulla "Cowboy Round-up" Marching Festival, going head-to-head against two great 4A bands from Carrizo Springs and Robstown. Although we finished third behind these two bands, it was a great day and a huge step forward for the band as we earned the caption awards for "Best Brass" and "Best Color Guard" in the 4A classification.
Even more importantly, the band received 1st Division ratings from all three of the judges.
With two weeks until UIL, the band will be working hard to try to earn a 1st division in Hondo on October 15th, which would qualify us for our first trip to UIL Area Marching since 2010.
This Saturday, the band will compete at the Harlandale Marching Festival in San Antonio. Performance time is set for 1:50. We would love to see you there!
