Last night the Lady Pirates hosted Laredo Harmony here at Lytle. Due to Laredo not having a Freshman team and multiple injured players on JV we pulled up four freshman to play with us. The ladies in the end got the win over Laredo with scores of 25-8 and 25-6, we start District Play with a record of 1-0. The points that we gave Laredo were mistakes on our end and this game gave us the chance to fine tune some skills.
In the first set the stats that the ladies had are as follows:
Kills: Kaitlyn Rodriguez, Angelik Martinez
Aces: Angelik Martinez, Chelsea Gonzales, Emily Garcia, Jerelynn Kent, Sydney Estrada
Sydney Estrada closed out the first set with strong serves.
In the second set the stats that the ladies had are as follows:
Kills: Emma Keith, Emily Garcia, Angelik Martinez, Alex Naegelin
Aces: Alex Naegelin, Emma Keith
Emma Keith’s serves helped us get a lead in points and Alex Naegelin had a kill for the win.
Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us last night. I want to thank Coach Armentrout for allowing me to have the four freshman play with JV last night, each one of them was able to contribute in a positive way towards our wins. Our next game will be tonight at 6 P.M. in Jourdanton, the Freshman team will play at 5 P.M. and Varsity at 7 P.M.
