The Mighty, Mighty Pirates competed against the Natalia Mustangs last evening. All teams came out with a WIN!
The 8B team played their last game of this season and although they tied their first match 20-20, the second game, they came back with a commanding WIN of 25-13.
We cannot express enough how proud we are of these young ladies and how much these girls have grown this year.
Our personal Superstars of the Night were Bree Criswell, who not only had an outstanding service game, but was moving and stretching for balls to keep the second game in check. She out played the opponents both defensively and offensively. Please give her huge Kudos when you see this young lady. And Ashley Casas who has been struggling with her own confidence levels on the court. We as coaches can say it daily, but this young lady, was forced to serve some clutch serves to overtake the game. She really stepped up and displayed her Pirate PRIDE!!!
The 8A team played their last home game. They will travel to the district tournament this Saturday in Cotulla. These ladies truly showed their potential last night.
The team came out strong with some blocks and kills early, but a serving slump and little communication hurt them, and they struggled to recover in the first game loss of 16-25. However, they came back with a vengeance and irrepressible determination the next 2 games to win the series 25-13, 15-13.
Outstanding serving from Marissa Lopez who served 10 in a row to begin the second game and make the Mustangs understand they were going to a three-game series. Cadee Martinez who service, and blocks set the team up for the wins!! Congratulations to all!

Again, so very proud of both teams. Their growth and their determination show in everything they do on and off the court! Thank you all who continue to support our program and us as we end another great season! We look forward to seeing who will continue to play at the High School level!
