The girls have had two games so far, one with La Vernia where we took a loss to a very good La Vernia squad. It was a great learning experience for the girls and that is the kind of team we would see in the postseason. We faced Poteet this past Saturday and lost to them 53-33. We have a young team including 7 sophomores and they are on the court most of the time. We are working on building the chemistry and finding what each person needs to contribute to the TEAM for us to be successful when we get to district play. I keep telling them It is not where we start it is where you finish that counts. Go Pirates!!!
Some highlights so far:
Kylie Mask continues to give us great defense.
Adriana Rios came off the bench to give us 5 points the first game and 3 the second game.
Noelia Medina is taking over running the point guard position.
Transfer Kiara Nixon has been the leading scorer both games with 8 and 12.
Alex Naegelin leads in rebounding.
Elaine Keith stepping up and being a leader.
