"I don't think you can teach desire. I think it is a gift." - Larry Bird

The team from Natalia came calling before Christmas and unfortunately, they only had enough to form one team. I would have loved to have a B team game, but it was fun to sit on the bench and watch the 8th grade A team beat their rivals in blue. The ladies shut the Mustangs out in the first half and took an 8 to 0 lead to the half. Their second quarter didn't gain many points, but they took some good shots. In the third quarter, we gave four of the B team opportunity to get in the game and they held their own. In the fourth quarter, we ran two beautiful inbounds plays for 5 points. The first play gave two points to Cadee Martinez as she cut to the basket. The second play we gave it to Marissa for a three-point shot which she swished. This shot broke the spirit of the ladies in blue. We scored 11 points in the fourth quarter which was the highest quarter total for the year. The horn sounded and Lytle had 24 and Natalia 10. We have taken care of our home court winning both games. Our record stands at 2 and 1. Next week we finish the 2018 part of the season with a game in Dilley.

Points scored:

Mariah and Cadee 6 points

Natalie 5 points

Marissa 3 points

Katelyn 2 points

Nivea 2 points.
