Last night your Pirates hosted the Pearsall Mavericks and made a statement by winning 100 to 48. The boys played fast and pressured the Mavericks all night long creating turnover after turnover with a total of 24 steals and once again shooting over 90 shots on our goal.
After last night's impressive win, I told the boys that their sacrifice to be in the gym these past three summers and committing to playing big schools over the summer breaks was finally paying off. Seniors Jorge Holguin, Jociah Cruzzi, Jacob Morales along with Juniors John Martinez, Robert Ibarra, Ben Eldridge, and Jaron Calderon have been on the other side of the score many times over the past two seasons but made a commitment to turning this program around. Their commitment and love for the game has not only changed the program but has our future leaders in Logan Wilson and Mark Cantu ready to continue the hard work over the next few years.
