"Maybe you can't play over your head at all. Maybe it's just potential you never knew you had." - Fran Tarkenton
Last night, January 28th, the ladies took the short trip to Natalia. I have driven very few times where we return having swept every game that was played but last night that was the case. The seventh grade set the stage winning both games and then the one 8th grade team set to play. We had 13 on our roster since Natalia had no B game. I told them at morning practice that the goal was to score 30 points. 9 of the 13 ladies scored and we reached our goal scoring a season-high 35. Whatever blew in we need to bottle. We unleashed a storm of 3-point shots, hitting 6 from behind the arc. Maybe we should shoot our free throws from the top of the arc because we were only 1 for 11 from the 15-foot charity stripe. Defensively we threw everything at them from a zone full-court press to a half-court trap to a man press. We held the ladies in blue to 5 points. Marissa and Eisabel led in scoring with 8 points each and 2 threes for each. Mariah and Morgan had 4 points. Kaylee and Elyssa hit one three, Cambri and Dakota added 2 apiece. Nivea scored our only free throw scoring one. Final 35-5 and the record stands at 3-9 overall and 3- 4 in district. We play our final game next Monday against Dilley. I hope everyone is getting ready for a great Groundhog's day. I predict he will see his shadow and we will have six more weeks of winter.
