This afternoon the JH band traveled to Pleasanton for their UIL Concert and Sight Reading competition. The band was excellent on stage receiving a 1-2-2 rating which is a 2nd division overall. A few of the comments they received from their judges were “The students perform with a very mature tone” and “I really enjoyed hearing you! Congratulations! Fine group!”
After their stage performance, the students went into the sight reading room. There they received a 1-1-2 rating which is a 1st division or Superior rating. A few of the comments from these judges were “Students attentive and well engaged, nice band sound, and you are well taught.”
Not only did the students do well on stage, they were also extremely well behaved receiving a compliment on their behavior from the hosting school. I could not have done this alone. Thank you, Mr. Fender and Mr. Keown, for all your hard work and tireless dedication to our students.
