Your Lytle Cross Country team traveled to Pearsall for their 2nd Meet of the year Saturday, August 24th. All our district opponents (minus Laredo Harmony) were in attendance along with most of our old district foes (except Carrizo Springs).

We had a better week of practice and because of that, ran a bit better. We were more competitive in the second half of our races but still need to work on starting out faster and maintaining it. Both the Varsity and JV boys captured first and the JV girls grabbed 2nd behind Pearsall.

It was a better week for our Varsity boys who are still running without our leader, Carlos Tamayo. Five of the six medaled with Freshman Robert Wagner just missing out finishing 16th in his 1st Varsity competition.

Four of the seven JV boys finished in the top 15 to help them capture 1st and 3 of the 8 JV girls medaled with Freshman Natalie Williams capturing her first Cross Country Gold to help them finish 2nd to Pearsall.

The team next travels to New Braunfels for an early and very fast meet. We get an early look at the #1 team in 3A, Luling.
