Man O Man O Man!
That is exactly what the boys had last night, December 17th, a great opportunity! The boys coming off a total demolishing of Natalia found themselves in a battle they weren’t quite expecting and had an opportunity to find out exactly what they are made of!
The Dilley Wolves were bigger and very aggressive coming out of the gate. Our boys from Lytle we’re tired, frustrated and discouraged from the lack of made shots caused by a relentless 2-3 Zone Defense displayed by the Wolves. The Expressions on their faces said it all!
Only up 8-6 at halftime, the boys seized a great opportunity to create a great moment. After settling down and figuring out how to penetrate the 2-3 zone D along with making some 3’s, the Wickedly Awesome Pirates played suffocating defense and fast paced basketball to put a good ol caging on the Wolves!!! (Triple Threat) Trey led all scorers with 20 points followed by (Zig Zag) Zach with 3 points and (Cross Over) Collin, (Lay Up) Luke, and (Hard Court) Hudson all pitching in with 2 points apiece to give the Fighting Pirates a 29-16 hard fought victory.
If you haven’t had a chance to get to see these guys play, I recommend trying to make the next home game after the break.... THEY ARE DEFINITELY WORTH IT!
