The 2019-2020 Basketball season has come to an end, and it was one for the ages. The boys lost this past Friday to 7th ranked CC London 78-63 in the area championship. The boys played hard and had CC London on the ropes the entire night but our Achilles heel all year caught up to us as the team missed 21 free throws. That was the difference maker. As I reflect on what these boys accomplished this year, I couldn't be any prouder; a winning overall record, 2nd place finish in district, a BI-DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP which is preached in our program as a great year when you can win in the playoffs. Just amazing! I'm proud to say that my three seniors, the class of 2020, John Martinez, Robert Ibarra, and Jaron Calderon have gone down in the record books as the most successful basketball players in Lytle Basketball History. 60 plus varsity wins, 1 District Championship, 2 Bi-District Championships, and the most wins in one season in 2019. These kids walked in with me four years ago and believed in the system from day one, and the hard work has paid off. These three seniors took on the challenge to get us back into the playoffs, win, and prove that "Expectations Never Graduate" after last years talented senior class. Their leadership on and off the court lead to this amazing season and the awards below:
