The Lytle Junior High Lady Pirates lost last night, September 20th, to the Natalia Mustangs. The 7th Grade started the evening and struggled to break the serves of the Mustangs. Eventually, Taryn McDonald and Jerelyn Martinez began their serves and got us back in the game and into a slight lead. After a couple of errors on our part, we were not able to overcome the serving on the other side. Great job to a few outstanding players: Galli Hernandez, Kylie Cantu, and Giselle Esparza, many saves and defensive play on their end!

The second game of the evening was put on by the 8th Grade. They too, struggled a bit on the serve-receive, but strong serving kept them in the game. Ariana Garcia and Nayelli Pacheco found a rhythm in their serving to make a real game of things against the Mustangs. Unfortunately, unforced errors on the defensive end were too hard to overcome with serving. Players who stood out are Aylssa Sprenger, Gillian Haltom, and Valentina Ayala. They kept the game alive with some great defensive moves.
