Your Lytle Pirate Cross Country team traveled to Pearsall on Saturday for their second meet of the year to compete against some old and new district foes. We ran 3 girls and 5 boys on varsity and 9 girls and 15 boys on JV. Out of the 31 runners we had competing, 19 came home with a medal. Both Varsity and JV boys were meet Champions and the JV girls tied for 1st but lost the tie-breaker.
I was very proud of our student/athletes not just because of their performance Saturday, but also because of their dedication to show up every morning and continue to work hard. If they continue to do that, we can definitely have a very successful year.
The Pirates next travel to New Braunfels this Saturday against some very tough competition before returning the following week to Hondo. Hope you can come watch these young runners.
