Saturday, the band competed at the UIL Region XI Marching Contest and received an overall rating of 1st Division. It was one of the toughest marching contests I can recall, with the judges giving ratings as low as 4th divisions to other bands.
The band would like to thank everyone who came out to watch and support us - the Pirate Band backers were many, and they were very enthusiastic, which made it easier for us to give our best show.
If you see a band member in the hall, give them a fist-bump. They have been working hard through the heat of August and the rains of October to earn this recognition.
