10-30-2018 4th Grade Ag Fair and Wax Museum

Ag Fair

Every year, the Atascosa County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension hosts an Agricultural Science Fair for 4th-grade students. This year, we were unable to attend due to an early release day, and the amazing presenters at the Ag Fair volunteered to come to our campus the following day!  The students learned about the importance of agriculture in our society including water and soil conservation, growing cotton and vegetables, and raising beef and dairy cattle. Wax Museum

Our 4th-grade historical fiction, biography & autobiography unit in ELAR culminated in a wax museum presentation on October 17th. Students researched a historical figure or modern-day innovator of their choosing to write a biography report. Students then changed their biography into an autobiography and dressed up as their selected person to give a “wax museum” presentation to parents, staff, community members and peers.
