4th grade had an amazing opportunity and visited the Institute of Texan Cultures! It was an exciting time and students were immersed in actual Texas History! They were able to sit in an early schoolhouse, visit an early log cabin and an adobe house. They even visited an adobe military bunker.
Students learned interesting facts such as: who brought pasta to the United States, the many uses for corn, how were the first tortillas made and so much more. By the end of the visit, everyone had a clear understanding of just how culturally rich and amazing our great state of Texas truly is and exactly how this diversity has influenced and enriched our current lifestyles/traditions.
