Saturday, February 9th, marked the last day of the Junior High Basketball Season. We hosted the 7th and 8th-grade district tournament here in Lytle.
The 7th grade A team boys were eliminated early in the tournament but showed tremendous growth and improvement throughout the year. We are very proud of the work they put in and are looking forward to working with them in the basketball program.
The 8th-grade boys came into the district tournament as the top seed and showed everyone in attendance why. The opening round they eliminated The Dilley Pups with a 50-point victory and then went on to face Jourdanton in the Championship. The Pirates ended the year like they played all year...Dominant! They again cruised through the Championship game easily defeated the Indians and claimed the District Championship!!!!! This group is super talented, and we are excited about their potential as they move on to high school next year.
They finished the regular season with an overall record of 11-1 and were undefeated in district, 10-0.
