Tuesday, April 23rd, the Lady Pirates traveled to Jourdanton to face off against the Cowgirls from Cotulla in a "play-in" game to decide who would be the final team representing District 30-3A in the playoffs.
I'd like to begin by saying that these girls have been challenged all season long through trial and tribulation, and going through the hills and valleys of struggle. From the moment our season began, to seeing what they put on display last night vs. Cotulla, you'd be amazed by the growth of these student-athletes! Applying our core values ("FAVOR") into their academic, athletic, and personal life have allowed them stare adversity in the face and know that every failure becomes a faith-filled lesson. With only winning 4 games this season, last night's victory was the best one yet!
With both teams tied for the 4th and final playoff spot, our ladies knew it was about the team who prepared, primed, and prospered.
In the end, your Lady Pirates prevailed! From executing defensive situations to doing their job at the plate, your Pirates walked away with a 3-0 win over Cotulla.
