Yesterday, April 29th, a group of students in my College and Career Readiness class had the opportunity to do a behind the scenes tour of SeaWorld San Antonio. These students showed a special interest in Animal Careers and were able to get a first-hand look at what it takes to work at a place like SeaWorld. During the tour, our students were able to interact with the animals, feed them and pet them, and speak with animal trainers to understand the requirements of the job. Along the way, they learned about different jobs like animal training, aviculturist, animal curators, an aquarist, along with other careers in marketing and research.
I would like to thank our administration for allowing us to take these career tours and letting our students get out and connect with industry that they have interest in. This year we have been able to take our students to SAPD Training Academy, Junior Achievement Finance Park, Toyota Manufacturing, Woman in Non-Traditional Careers Conference, and SeaWorld.
