8-30-2019 JV Football vs. Comfort

Yesterday, August 29th, the JV football team played host to the visiting Bobcats of Comfort.

With the first two weeks of football camp finally coming to a close, the players were ready to roll and wanted to put their talent on display!

First off, if you've ever had the chance to watch these young men play on the gridiron, they are something special and have talent across the board.

Second, if you've never had the chance to watch these young men play, then I'd recommend jotting down their next home game and expect to be "wowed" by their phenomenal athletic capabilities!

In the first half, both teams were fighting tooth and nail with each other, both offensively and defensively. With a double pass to begin the first offensive play from Malakai Castro to Robert Wagner, to Cecil Olivarri chasing down Comfort's running back side to side, both teams were only able to score once, leading us into halftime with a score of 8-8.

Second half adjustments were made, and the JV Pirate offense exploded as they drove down 65 yards for a score to put them back up 16-8 in the 3rd quarter. That included catches by Jordan Balderaz, Castro, and runs by Eli Vega and Collin Aldridge.

Defensively, the JV Pirate defense was solid, forcing multiple turnovers (interceptions and fumbles), in which they only gave up one score. Joseph Araujo and Albert Aguilar led the charge on defense accumulating 10+ tackles!

The second and final score from Comfort came on a kickoff return back for a Touchdown, which put the score 16-14, Lytle (Comfort's 2pt conversion failed).

The Pirates were able to capitalize once more on offense that pretty much sealed the deal for the night!

The JV Pirates defeated the Comfort Bobcats 24-14!
