The Lytle Cross Country team traveled to Corpus on Saturday, September 21st, to participate in the 2019 Islander Splash, site of the Region IV Cross Country Meet. There were over 2500 participants in 8 divisions and it was a little preview of what Regionals will be if we get out of District.
The JV boys started the day for us and finished 15th out of 27 teams. Ryan Gomez was the fastest finisher for Lytle coming in 68th out of 318 runners.
All six of our girls ran in the Middle/Small School Division. Isyss Cortez was our best finisher at 132nd out of 345 runners. The girls are fighting injuries and we hope to get them all back by District.
Our Varsity boys competed in the Middle/Small School Division and finished 5th out of 41 teams competing. We had 2 who finished in the top 25 and received medals as JC Hernandez finished 12th and Goyo Alcorta finished 21st out of 358 runners.
