10-21-2019 Varsity Football vs. Cole

“Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet.”

-Aristotle

Last Friday night, October 18th, was a tale of two halves. In the first half, our Pirates played a half everyone would be proud of. Sophomore Daniel Aguirre kicked a 37-yard field goal to put the Pirates ahead. A few minutes later a busted coverage would allow the Cougars to score and take the lead. Within minutes the Defense created an interception by Sophomore Zak Placido who took it in for a score. A Cole Pick 6 would also happen before the half to make the halftime score Cougars 14, Pirates 10. We went into the locker room feeling positive, if we clean up some of our mistakes, we would get a positive result. The final score was:

CHS   35

LHS    10

I put the athletes grade level by their names to remind myself as well everyone else we are young, but these guys keep making plays and fighting till the end, for that I will always be proud. It’s not any fun being patient but sometimes it’s a requirement and a necessity. What a great group of guys we have in the locker room, future role-models as seen in our weekly trips to the Elementary.
