2-18-2020 Softball Opening Day at Sabinal

With softball now in full swing (pun intended), there's something special brewin' for our young ladies that seek to make a positive impact for our town and our team every single day.

As we embark on this journey together this 2020 season, the talent we have will stand out, but that's not what we position ourselves on; we position ourselves on "energy, effort, and enthusiasm" and riding our "Energy Bus"

Yesterday, your Lady Pirates traveled to Sabinal to begin their trek towards #105miles (our vision towards State), and with 80-degree weather, sun shining bright over the field, our ladies showed up and showed out.

Freshman Moriah Gomez wheeled and dealed inside the pitcher's circle accumulating 11 strike outs on her way to her first no-hitter of her high school career!

Freshmen Elysa Aleman and Bree Criswell, along with Senior Angelik Martinez, accumulated for 7 hits on the day and 5 RBI's.

Our "next base mentality" base running was aggressive and allowed us to put runners in scoring position multiple times throughout the game.

As exciting as the results may seem, we continue to focus on our "respond" core value, which is extremely important to us; we stay off the results, we stay on each other!

Final Score:
Lytle - 15

Sabinal - 1

Season record: 1-0
