"The quickest way to the top is to serve from the bottom!"
The above quote is so powerful, and it's how we align our program's standards and expectations towards our vision and our mission for this season.
We want to leverage our position to make others feel prominent.
It's about our posture, not about our power.
It's about choosing to practice what you prefer.
Do you want to serve, or to be served?
Our softball team faced one of many tests last night vs the Hondo Owls, but with focusing on our root (our team), rather than focusing on results (scoreboard), we were able to turn obstacles into opportunities and produce great fruit!
It was an exciting back and forth game, and with both teams producing multiple hits and runs, it was "one" moment that lit the spark for us.
Junior, Clarissa Ramos was up to bat with 2 outs, no one on, and Hondo with a 10-7 lead; she had been in a slump until that moment, as she struck one right back up the middle to begin a 2-out rally. With bases loaded, and Freshman, Natalie Pacheco up to the plate, she connected on a pitch to right center field clearing the bases, along with herself as well (inside the park home run); she went 3-4 with 6 RBI's. Score was now 12-10, Lytle.
Top of the 7th came up for the Owls last chance to extend the game, but Moriah Gomez settled in a little deeper and trusted her defense to close out the game; Gomez also went 4-4 at the plate with 3 RBI's.
Final Score:
Lytle - 12
Hondo - 10
Season Record: 3-4
These ladies are a special group, and we want as many people to be a part of our journey!
They are back in action this weekend in D'Hanis for their 2nd and final tournament of the season.
