3-3-2020 Softball vs Carrizo Springs

"Be a Problem Solver, not a problem creator."

Last night, your Lady Pirates welcomed the visiting Carrizo Springs Wildcats to Lytle for a non-district game. It was a slow and shaky start offensively for the Pirates as they struggled at the plate trying to find their rhythm and timing. Carrizo was able to capitalize on an error early in the game, which allowed them to bring 1 runner across. The end of 1.5 innings, Carrizo led 1-0.

Then finally, the bats came alive! With multiple hits by Ashley Klinger, Dylan Reyna, and Alyssa Montalvo, the Lady Pirates continued to add runs on the board over the course of the next 4 innings that fueled our "Energy Bus"; aggressive base running also allowed the Pirates to add a little more pressure on the Wildcats throughout the game.

Defensively, the spark the ignited our team was during the 4th inning when Clarissa Ramos sacrificed her body in foul territory off of a pop fly that she dove for and came up with a great catch!

When these ladies compete, that's the energy that fuels as to produce more effort and enthusiasm on the field.

Moriah Gomez went the distance and threw the entire game only surrendering 1 run on 3 hits. She is continuing to improve not only her velocity and accuracy, but her confidence as well.

Final Score:

Lytle - 9

Carrizo Springs - 1

Thank you for continuing to be a part of our journey this year!

Our "Energy Bus" continues to roll forward.
