Last school year, Lytle Junior High worked to give back to the community. We had a monthly relay run from September — January, raising money and supplies for local charities.
In the Fall, the Junior High ran for Susan B. Komen, St. Jude’s Hospital , and Haven for Hope.
In November, students collected canned goods and monetary donations for the VFW. The VFW then purchased turkeys with the donations and distributed them along with the canned goods.
Other relays were scheduled but were canceled due to Covid 19.
Some runs were themed, we wore pink and dressed as superheroes.
The overall goal was to help students to think about and support others.
The students helped raise $613 for Haven for Hope, $735 for Susan B. Komen, and $729 for St. Jude’s Hospital.
The students enjoyed the runs and they learned to be servant leaders.
