The Lytle Cross Country team traveled to Bandera shorthanded but ready to compete. We only competed in the Varsity division with 5 boys and 6 girls against some old District foes in Bandera, Fredericksburg and Hondo.
The Varsity girls were missing one and finished 5th out of 7. They had some great performances as both Marissa Lopez, in 5th, and Natalie Williams, in 15th, both medaled, and Jazmine Ortega, Yadhira Mendez, Naomy Montes and Natalie Williams all set personal records. We hope that we can continue to improve going into District on October 26.
The Varsity boys had 2 Varsity and 3 Junior Varsity runners filling a team and finished 3rd out of 6 teams. JC Hernandez took 3rd, Robert Wagner in 7th, Brandon Obando in 15th and Abel Sanchez in 20th medaled and were only 7 points behind 2nd Bandera. We hope to have a full crew by District.
The team has one more Meet before District as we travel to River City Community Church Athletic Fields for the 3rd time to compete in the FEAST #3 Invitational against some tough competition to get us ready for our District Meet.
