11-17-2020 Giving thanks for WCW Design Co.

Please watch this short video, and join our district in thanking WCW Design Co. for their amazing gifts of time, donations, and support.

Mr. Christopher Roberts and his father, Wayne Barnes have supported Lytle ISD students and the district in a very unique way. Together, they own and operate WCW Design Co., a cabinet and furniture manufacturing company located in Lytle, Texas. Three years ago, the district became very interested in giving high school students more opportunities through a P-TECH program which provides students grades 9 - 12 the opportunity to complete a course of study that combines high school and post-secondary courses. Students in this program earn a high school diploma, an associate degree, a two-year postsecondary certificate or industry certification, and complete work-based training - all within a six-year timeframe. For the district to be able to bring this program to Lytle High School, along with grant funding, we needed a business partner in our community. This is where Mr. Christopher Roberts and Mr. Wayne Barnes stepped in to make this huge commitment of time and resources in our students. Thanks to their involvement, Lytle P-TECH is in its second year, and we have 26 students benefiting from this incredible learning opportunity.
