The girls traveled to Marion last night, November 17th, and picked up another road win beating Marion. We were up 29-27 going into the half. We are still trying to figure out why we start off the first half with the jitters because once settled in these girls can go the distance. We scored 38 points in the second half and outscored Marion 22-8 in the 4th quarter. Our defense continues to wear down our opponents with our 4 guards putting constant pressure from our press. Freshmen Calyssa Sevier had another 28 point showing with 9 rebounds, 7 assists, and 5 steals. The beauty about her is she is so unselfish she would rather pass to her teammates then shoot the ball. Fizz Hutton had 10 points and 4 steals we are so glad she found Lytle she brings that extra defense we need. Kylie Mask had 9 points, 2 assists, 4 steals and 1 charge. Noelia Medina had 9 points. Alex Nagelin came off the bench and gave some valuable minutes scoring 2 points and getting 2 steals. Martinez had 4 points and Moreno and Ramos both had 2 points. Whitfield came off the bench and gave us some spark on the back of our press and scored 1 point. These girls are still building the chemistry and are getting better every day. With all the craziness in the world when we are on the court it all seems to disappear. The girls are now 2-1. Go Pirates!!
