The girls traveled to Poteet last night, February 2, and beat Poteet. That win officially made the girls’ program the 27-3A District Champs. We held Poteet to 4 points at the half. Forced Poteet into 42 turnovers. We collected 32 steals off our press. We scored 34 points in transition. We continue to give all our credit to our defensive effort every win the team has racked up. We are now 12-0 in District with 2 games remaining our next goal is to finish with a perfect 14-0 record. We are now 19-5 for the season. The girls moved up to #20 in the rankings. The last time the girls won District was before my time back in 2011. The last 7 years paid off last night when we accomplished this great achievement with obstacles we are facing in the world right now. The girls have stayed focused and dedicated since day one and their work ethic was rewarded. I think it is still sinking in but once that trophy arrives it will be the icing on the cake. It was a great team win and accomplishment; it could not have happened to a better group.
