3-24-2021 Softball Recap - Dilley, Jourdanton, Cotulla

Girls got the win last night, March, 23rd! 

Lady Pirates are now 2-3 in District play after defeating Dilley last night 6-1. 

After a scoreless first inning, Dilley managed to put a run across the plate after a wild pitch. The Pirates answered back and tied it up. Elysa Aleman hit a double and reached third on a stolen base. Emma Keith hit a single allowing Elysa to score. In the third, Clarissa Ramos triples off a throwing error and was batted in by Dylan Reyna. In the 4th Natalie Pacheco reaches three on an obstruction call and scores off a hit by Campbele Aldridge. 3 more runs crossed for the Pirates in the fifth inning all with two outs. Calyssa Sevier singles with a line drive to centerfield and gets to three after Natalie Pacheco hits a double to left field. Elysa hits a hard-line drive to center field scoring Sevier and Pacheco. Moriah Gomez earned the win for the Pirates. Gomez allowed four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out 10 and walking zero. The Pirates had ten hits and 3 strikeouts against Dilley.  

Natalie Pacheco drives in five as the Lady Pirates defeat Jourdanton 17-8 

Natalie Pacheco was bad news for opposing pitchers on Friday, driving in five on three hits to lead the Pirates past Jourdanton 17-8 on Friday. Pacheco drove in runs on a double in the third, a home run in the fourth, and a double in the sixth. Both offenses were strong at the plate as Lytle collected 13 hits and Jourdanton 12 in the high-scoring affair. The Pirates got things started in the second inning when an error scored one run.  

The Pirates tallied six runs in the seventh inning, led by Dylan Reyna, Moriah Gomez, Calyssa Sevier, and Elysa Aleman, all driving in runs in the inning. Gomez was credited with the victory. Gomez allowed 12 hits and eight runs over seven innings, striking out 13, her highest for the season. Kaylee Schuchart took the loss for Jourdanton. Schuchart lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and seven runs while striking out five. West started the game for Jourdanton. The pitcher lasted three and a third innings, allowing eight hits and ten runs Natalie Pacheco socked one home run in the fourth inning. The Lady Pirates had 13 hits in the game. Aleman, Pacheco, Sevier, and Clarissa Ramos each managed multiple hits for Lytle. Pacheco and Aleman each collected three hits to lead the team.  

Lady Pirates fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 10-2 loss to Cotulla on Tuesday. 

Moriah Gomez took the loss for the Pirates, allowing 12 hits and ten runs while striking out 8 and walking one. 

After a scoreless three innings, the Pirates were able to score 2 in the fourth.  

Calyssa Sevier started the inning with a single and was hit in with Natalie Pacheco’s double. Natalie was scored with a hit by Elysa Aleman.  

The score remained 2-10 throughout the 7th.
