2-12-2018 Girls Varsity Basketball Season Comes To An End

Pub: 2-12-18

The girls traveled to Pearsall Friday and lost to Crystal City by 3 we got down early in the 4th and just ran out of time but the girls fought hard the last five minutes. A year ago I would of never thought my team would consist of 3 seniors 3 sophomores and 4 freshmen. We had  a lot of success and brought back trophies from every tournament we played in. Friday night in the locker room was very emotional because reality was no playoffs this year. As we lined up and said goodbye to our seniors every girl in that locker room was crying including myself I think I cried all the way home that made me realize we had built a special bond this year as a TEAM and everything outside the locker room didn’t matter. We won 15 games that is more than the program has in the last 2 years. The 3 seniors Lauren Gomez, Samantha Dear and Jazlyn Aguinaga have been with me the last 4 years and  have made a great impact on the program and will truly be missed. I’m excited about all the youth coming back and truly believe all the experience they received this year will bring them back hungry for success.

Thank you to everyone that came out and supported the program all year especially the parents and to all the departments that help us run the Athletic Department on a daily basis.
