Last night, May 3rd, the Pirates played host to the Natalia Mustangs for the finale of our 27 AAA district schedule. It was a nail-biting, frustrating, and, ultimately, historic night.
Natalia took the lead in the 1st on a passed ball and kept that lead until the bottom of the 6th inning. Logan Wilson walked with one out. He advanced to third base on an errant pickoff move to 1st base. 2 pitches later, Zakry Placido squeezed in Wilson for the tying run. Caleb Wood then reached base on an error and scored Placido to give the Pirates a 3 - 2 lead. Justin Deleon got the win on the mound.
This victory gave the Pirates a perfect 14 - 0 record in district play...for the first time in school history...and a District 27 AAA Championship.
