After a dominating performance by the 7th Grade football team over Marion, it was time for the 8th Grade football team to rise to the occasion, September 24, 2021. The Pirates and the Bulldogs traded punches to a tied halftime score. We received the 2nd half kickoff and scored to take the lead. The turning point in the game was an interception by Travis Norton that was returned to the “red zone”. From then on out, it was all Pirates. The defense played as a unit and smothered the Bulldogs. All of their scores came from terribly called blitz’ from a coach that will go nameless. The offense was explosive. Toby Davila and Chase Guevara can break a spectacular run on any given play. They will be the first to tell you that it’s because of great blocking from our offensive line and receivers. Our games have all been very entertaining. Come out and support these selfless young Pirates. You won’t be disappointed with their effort.
