The Lytle Pirate Cross Country team traveled down to Devine for their final Meet before their Championship Season.
The Varsity girls won their second straight Meet with three girls finishing in the top 10. Marissa Lopez in 2nd, Samantha Mujica in 4th, and Eisabel Guerrero taking 7th.
The Varsity boys ran as a team for the first time and finished 2nd behind San Antonio Christian. Two boys medaled as Jose Cortez finished 2nd and Israel Andrade 9th.
The Junior Varsity girls finished 3rd and had two medalists. Nivea Sanchez finished 4th and Fatima Montes 8th.
The Junior Varsity boys captured 1st as a team and Yandel Esquivez was JV meet champion. Three others finished in the top 10 as Daniel Mercado was 3rd, Donovan Cortez in 4th and Faustino Ruiz in 5th.
The Varsity boys are trying to get over their injuries to make it 4 straight District Titles. The Varsity girls are trying to make it back-to-back titles but must beat the #6 team in the State, the Poth Pirates. The Junior Varsity boys are trying to win their 6th straight and the Junior Varsity girls are trying to win their first ever.
