Lytle JV 8, Cotulla JV 14
The Pirates traveled to Cotulla last night, November 4, 2021, for the final game of the season. It was another hard-fought, nail-biting contest.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Cowboys took the lead 8 - 0. The Lytle offense answered back with an 8 play, 65-yard touchdown drive. Hudson Lindsay completed 2 passes to Jair Flores, 2 passes to Daniel Romero, and 1 pass to Kaden Aguinaga. Abel Garcia scored on a 2-yard run and Jair Flores added on a 2-point conversion to tie the score at 8 - 8.
In the 2nd half, the Pirates took the opening drive all the way down to the 12-yard line but could not punch it in the endzone. Abel Garcia, Hudson Lindsay, and Daniel Romero all had nice runs behind our offensive line consisting of Giovanni Davalos, Anthony Perdomo, William Davalos, Damien Ramon, and Nehemiah Lopez.
The score remained tied until 1:20 in the 4th quarter when Cotulla scored the game-winning touchdown. It was another barn burner game for the Pirate Junior Varsity. Our final 5 games of the season were all decided by 1 touchdown. The defense played admirably behind Anthony Perdomo, Abel Garcia, William Davalaos, and Jair Flores.
On behalf of the JV staff of Coach Young, Clark, Hettler, and Bippert, we would like to thank our players and fans for staying positive and continuing to fight hard to represent our school well. We are proud of our guys! They improved with each week of the season. Many of them are playing football for the first time. Perseverance, dedication, and fortitude kept these guys competitive throughout the year.
