11-18-2021 Watch the Video: Lytle Pirate Mini Cheer Camp is a Huge Success!

Extracurricular isn't just extra fun. Often it means extra learning in the form of leadership skills, mentoring skills, positive culture or team building, and event organization skills. Please watch this video story created by Skull Studios students. It's a great example of powerful, widespread learning within our cheer program.

The Lytle High School Varsity Cheerleaders, together with their sponsors, Micah Berchelmann and Melissa Gomez, planned a very special cheer camp for Lytle students from Pre-K through 5th grade. Just under one hundred Cheer Campers signed up, ready to learn how to be spirit leaders for their school. The Varsity Cheerleaders worked for 5 days straight to guide them in new skills such as basic kicks, jumps, chants, and choreographed cheer moves. They also enjoyed the all-important after-school snack to fuel the energy they needed to learn performance skills. The Lytle Cheerleaders learned patience and teaching skills, and how to build relationships with their young fans, and the mini cheerleaders grew to love and look up to their cheerleader teachers even more. The five-day camp ended with a wonderful performance during the halftime of the Friday night Pink Out football game. Even Junior High Cheerleaders got involved to help with the big finale performance. We know you’ll delight in these highlights of their performances.

The cuteness factor of this video is off the charts!
