Yesterday, December 2, 2021, was an exciting day to say the least! The 7th Grade boys’ basketball team traveled to Cotulla to take on the Cowboys which so happened to be the same group of kids we recently played for a District title in football and the tension was high.
The boys’ B team took the floor first and played like their shirts were on fire coming away with a 19-4 victory. PJ "Gamer" Guillen led the way with 9 points while Kash "Money" Friesenhaun contributed with 7 points and Adrian "Money Man" Muraira hit a key 3 pointer to seal the deal.
When the A team took the floor, the Cowboys were fired up and looking for revenge, but the boys played hard with grit and never quit! Though my man Seth "Superman" Pierce couldn’t hit water from a boat from the free throw line, he took care of business elsewhere. “Superman” led all scorers with 18 points while Mason "Hustle Makes it Happen" Hill played superb defense and pitched in with 4 points on top of his defensive onslaught! Sebastian "Seabass" Garcia had 6 points and Jaylen "Mad Dog" got his first two points of the season. The boys finished with a 42-33 victory and both teams are 2-0 on the season.
