On December 14, 2021, the girls beat Natalia and brought back the trophy for the 6th year in a row, winning 56-42. We had 16 points off transition compared to Natalia's 3 points. We had 14 steals off of our press which helped us get some easy baskets. We struggled in the foul trouble column again last night. We have to be better at adjusting to the refs. It was a new starting lineup last night so we are still working on the chemistry of the team. It felt good to come out and play hard after a disappointing loss against Karnes City. The girls are now 2-1 in District and 12-7 overall. Thank you to everyone that traveled to Natalia last night. It was a great atmosphere.
Congrats to Calyssa Sevier she was named the MVP of the game. Leading the team was Cadee Martinez with 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 steals. Calyssa Sevier had a double-double 20 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 deflections, and 3 steals. Fizz Hutton had 7 points, 8 rebounds, 1 deflection, and 4 steals. Nicole Godines had 2 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. Katara Whitfield had 4 points, and 8 rebounds, she did well coming off the bench. Arianna Garcia had 2 points. Amelia Martinez started and played great defense like always for us. Kaylee Diaz, Eisabel Guerrero, Rose Scotello and Sofia Hutton gave us great minutes off the bench.
