This past weekend, April 2, 2022, Lytle’s Tennis team participated in the District Tournament just down the road at Jourdanton High School. Although the cool morning was a nice start, the sun came out and quickly heated things up. Many athletes came home with hardware, and the tournament is not quite finished. We still have two matches to play on Monday morning. Cambri Davila and Lola Patino played a wonderful match on Saturday where they rallied back down a set, fighting cramps to win 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. They have locked in a position as Alternates for Regionals, but will play for 2nd place on Monday morning. The other pair playing for a spot at Regionals are Elias Hernandez and Amanda Soto; they also played against some tough teams and have also secured a position as an Alternate for Regionals, but will play for a 2nd place finish in the District.
We could not be more excited and prouder of all these athletes. Please see below for all the results from Saturday’s performances. Almost the entire Varsity team has earned a spot to go to Regionals. We are so incredibly pleased and proud. I do not remember when we took so many prospective players. When you see these athletes, please let them know how supported they are and how brilliant they all played.

Special Thanks to Senior Head Trainer Sydney Estrada and our Public Relations Promoter, Senior, Diamond Smith. It was incredible to have so many people in attendance and so much support!
One point at a time, one game at a time, one set at a time, one Match at a time. Patience- there is always the next point.
