The Lytle Junior High Girl's 7th Grade team placed 4th, and the 7th Grade boys' team placed 2nd at the Steve Goleman Memorial Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, September 10, 2022.
The 7th Grade girls tallied up 109 points to finish behind Boerne (83 points), Del Rio (99 points), and Floresville (106 points). Elyse Cortinas led the pack with a 4th place finish, followed by Kaycee Galindo in 6th place, Emma Emery in 26th, Sophia Herrera in 29th, and Maekala Mata in 69th place, contributing to the team score.
The 7th-grade boys' team accumulated 59 points and finished only behind Del Rio. Elijah Robles captured an 8th place finish, followed by Julian Lopez in 9th, Luke Robles in 10th, Adrian Reyna in 21st, and Piercen Moreno in 26th place, respectively, to contribute to the team score.
In the 8th Grade girls' division, Laleina Reveira led the way with a 3rd place finish, followed by Vanessa Ayala in 5th, Addison Wagner in 13th, and Avery Sanchez in 36th place.
In the 8th Grade boys' division, the dynamic duo of Nathan Garza and Jaden Castro finished 4th and 5th.
The Pirates and Lady Pirates will return to action on Sept. 24th when they travel to River City Community Church in Selma for the Soldier River City Invitational.
