It was a tough night yesterday, September 15, 2022, at Walter H Joyce stadium for our Junior Varsity Football team. On the opening play of the game, the Pirates scored on a screen pass from Lee Mills to Chase Guevara. The Offensive Line set up a beautiful wall that went for 60 yards and a Touchdown. On the last play of the game, we scored on an 11-man Quarterback sneak… between those two plays it was all Mustangs. The Offense had trouble moving the ball and the Defense struggled with their running game. Our special teams had a particularly good night. It was fun to see our players compete through adversity. The Junior Varsity Pirates never gave up and were playing with total disregard for their bodies. Princeton Menchaca, Thomas Rubal, Noah Mercer, Kholer Keith, Jesus Garza and Jeffery Vargas were just a few that played their hearts out in different positions than they play at practice. The entire team never questions and plays wherever they are needed. Every week they learn a little more about the game and a lot more about themselves.
