Last Thursday, September 22, 2022, the 8th Grade (Mighty) Pirates traveled to Pearsall to take on the Mavericks. You should be extremely proud of how hard these young men played. Looking at the physical size of the Mavericks might have put some fear into some school's heart, but not your Awesome 8th Grade boys.
With excellent play on both sides of the ball, the Pirates popped the Mavericks straight in the mouth from the opening kickoff which led to a 22-6 victory. Jalen Motes carried the offensive load and PJ Guillen scored his first touchdown of his Junior High career. Solid Defense from Ethan Elizondo and Seth Pierce solidified the defense and were big contributors to the win as well.
