Last Friday, September 23, 2022, the Pirate Football Team took on the Pearsall Mavericks in Game 5 of the 2022 season. We knew coming into this game that it would be a battle. Our team continues to show the grit and resilience that personifies a team on the rise and we believe that we are exactly that. It was an action-packed first half and after exchanging scores, Pearsall held a 24-14 lead at half. First half highlights included a 1-yard Touchdown run by Freshman Quarterback Toby Davila and a 16-yard Touchdown pass to Amadeus Trejo-Perez, his first of the season. We continued to battle in the second half and finished off the night with another aerial strike; a 20-yard Touchdown pass to Senior Hudson Mask, his first of the season, from Quarterback Toby Davila. This team is simply getting better every week. The upperclassmen are stepping up and leading our program in the right direction. The younger players are following their lead and starting to shine on Friday Nights. It’s an exciting time to be a Pirate and the coaching staff is proud of the positive attitude and hard work that these kids continue to put forth every day.
